An Early Christmas Gift!

Today, we are jumping forward in the time line a bit as I wanted to share with you the first Carlisle/Bella story I wrote. It's a very cute one-shot that I wrote to raise money for Toys 4 Tots!

Fandom did many charity fundraiser. Authors would write one-shots or an off shoot to their story that they were currently posting currently. Readers would pay a small fee to have access early to the entire complication. All money went to the charity!

Summary: Bella Swan's hates her life and hates Christmas even more.

She’s on the way to the mall on Christmas Eve when an accident lands her in the Emergency Room, where the handsome Dr. Cullen is her attending doctor. 

Can the kind Dr. Cullen help Bella have a Christmas to remember?

Throwback Thursday: Fancy Deviled Eggs

Here's a great twist on deviled eggs! Try this recipe this holiday season!

 

Again I love this recipe because it uses very little mayo as I'm not a fan!

Fancy Deviled Eggs

Ingredients:

6 large eggs

1/4 cup garden vegetable cream cheese spread

3 tablespoons salad dressing or mayonnaise

Salt and ground black pepper

Paprika

Directions:

Preparing the eggs...

Place eggs in sauce pan, add cold water and bring to a boil.

Remove pan from heat; cover. Let eggs stand, covered for 20 minutes. 

Immediately run cold water over eggs or place them in ice water until completely cooled.

Remove shells.

Assembling the eggs...

Cut eggs in half lengthwise and remove yolks and place them in a bowl.

Finely chop/mash yolks with a fork. 

Stir in cream cheese and salad dressing until well blended. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.

Place yolk mixture into piping bag and pipe mixture into whites. Sprinkle paprika on them and place them into the fridge for at least 20 minutes.

The Twilight Muses Blog

 The Twilight Muse Blog was created by Madam Akyra. 

My blog Tazz's Twilight Obsession was all cannon stories, so, Madam Akyria Invited me to post on the Twilight Muse Blog about the non cannon stories I was reading,

Madam Akyria is back today to tell us about how the Twilight Muse Blog came about?

While creating and publishing blog posts solo can be fulfilling, and fun. I knew that it could be more fun with another. In those days of fandom, everyone was on twitter. Which is where I met both Gemma and Tammy. 

One Muse then became two Muses. I invited her onto the blog very early. So Muse Akyria became Madam Akyria. And Gemma became Mistress Gem. 

And we did well together, and it was a fun time for sure. Though both I and Gemma leaned more toward the darker stories. Even wrote one together. I'm not even sure, if it's on a site somewhere. Its been so long. I would not have written half the things I did without Gemma.

 Gemma was usually the one who did all the graphics in the early days of the blog. 

We spent quite a bit of time on both Twitter and Gchat, and Twitter is where we met the lovely Tazzy. We knew that it was Tazz we needed. To add light and variety to the blog. Cupcake as we used to call her. We had so much fun on twitter, now we just had to tempt her to the dark side…

Throwback Thursday: Easy Egg Casserole

Here is another one of my favorite breakfast recipes! 

 

I found this recipe many years ago in the coupon section of my local news paper and I swear by it! 

 

Easy Egg Casserole

INGREDIENTS

1 package Jimmy Dean® Original Sausage Crumbles
8 eggs
3 cups milk
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
8 cups French bread cubes (¾-inch pieces)
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F
Beat eggs, milk and pepper in large bowl with a wire whisk until well blended. Add bread cubes; stir gently until evenly coated. Stir in sausage crumbles and 1 ½ cups cheese.
Pour into lightly greased 13x9-inch baking dish; sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into 12 squares to serve.

Meet Madam Akyria

 Today' I'm handing the blog over to my amazing friend and partner in crime. I have no idea what I would do if she wasn't in my life. It's my pleasure to introduce you to Madam Akyria!

First off, I must say the same to you, Tammy it's been a crazy fun 15 years with you. 

Our story really starts in 2008, when I was looking at a Michaels ad and saw a picture of Edward and Bella, and said huh must be a movie poster. To my son that automatically meant I must be intrested, I recieved all 4 books for Christmas that year. New Moon was on back order. I read them in Feburary after New Moon had finally come in. And woah, that completly changed my life. For the better...

Aren't pen names fun? I got mine through an ancient city buried for millennias. Akrotiri on the island of Santorini.  My name started out as Akri, and evolved into Akyria. It is strange yeah? I have 3 grown kids, but back in 2010, my eldest was 14. He's high-functioing autistic. He wasn't one to watch cartoons, for him anything doing with ancient civiliaztions were his thing. And through the years it became mine as well.

I started a blog called Musings of Akyria, which I deleted years ago. When I started reading Twilght fanfictions. It was a way to track the ones I read, as I was a big lurker. And a way to track all the story ideas I would have. Then in 2010 I decided to start a new blog... I named it the Twilight Muses, after the Musings part of that first blog, and I became Madam Akyria.

Throwback Thursday: RumChata

 

Today, I'm going to reshare one of my favorites! Cheers!

I love RumChata, so I'm going to share a few great drink recipes with you!

RumChata Root Beer Float

1 part RumChata
3 parts A&W® or Dad's® Root Beer

Combine over ice in a tall glass. Careful: to avoid separation please pour root beer over ice first, then add RumChata to cooled root beer.

A&W® or Dad's® root beer are recommended as they seem to separate less than other brands.

RumChate Black Russian
1 part RumChata
1 part Kahlua
1 part Vodka

 Drink on the rocks!

RumChata Coffee Frappe
1 part RumChata
2 parts Iced Coffee
Ice

Combine with ice in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve in a pint glass.

Finding AH, Non-canon and Dark Stories... Oh My!

 We are going to take a fast-forward approach to this post! This is where I thought this post should go as we will deep driving going forward!

At this point I was only reading cannon stories in Twilight fanfiction. I knew other types of stories existed but I hadn't explored any...YET! (Trust me, when I do its a total and complete game changer!)

So, I thought it would be fun to explore what AH, non-cannon and dark meant if you didn't know and the rating in fanfiction.

Defining fanfiction stories ... 101!

Canon - follows the original story, setting and pairings.

Non-canon - pretty much stories do not follow original setting, pairings, location and what not! LOL!

AH- all human - making mythological creatures completely human! This took me a bit to read because I was like  .. wtf would you do that?

Dark - Well, the name says it all, pretty much your taboo subjects, graphic, violence, abuse, all reader beware subjects.  I was like I'm staying away from that shit! (Jokes on me...just wait!) 

There is one other type of story, it's called a crossover - where two movie/book fandoms interact. ( I did attempt this and of course I'll share it with you down the road).

Rating for fanfiction stories

K- all ages

KT - not suitable for kids under 10

T - Teen

M- Mature - equivalent to R in movies

MA- Explicit - mature content 18 plus

Again.. Twilight changed my life in many ways, even what I was willing to read! I do blames this completely on Madam Akyria! She corrupted me, but I wouldn't change a thing. 

Next Monday you will meet one of my most favorite people in the world and my very good friend (even though we have never met in person). Are talking on the phone like all the time makes  for that!

Introducing Throwback Thursday: Overnight French Toast

Going forward we are going to something fun on Thursdays! This blog was active in 2017, so I'm going to re-upload content that I think you guys will love!

I'm starting out with one of my favorite breakfast recipes! 

 

Overnight French Toast 

Ingredients

1 (16-ounce) French bread loaf
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Cut bread loaf into about 10 (3/4-inch-thick) slices. 

Arrange bread in an ungreased 13- x 9-inch baking dish. 

Pour melted butter evenly over bread.

Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, syrup, vanilla and salt; pour over bread.

Cover and overnight

The next day...

Pre-heat oven to 350°

Remove from fridge and place in the oven.

Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes or until golden.

I swear you will love it! Have powder sugar, syrup and cinnamon ready! 

Tazz's Twilight Obsession

Hanging out on Twitter and the Twilighted threads I found out many people had blogs to talk about stories and other Twilight fandom related things, So, of course I decided to start my own blog, because why not?

 I remember having to google how to start a blog... lol! 

I figured it out and created... Tazz's Twilight Obsession!

On my blog I talked about the stories that I was reading and loving, I never talked about a story I didn't like because I felt that was unnecessary, If you don't like a story just move on was my motto! Not everyone likes everything! Looking back now,  I wish I would of kept that blog, but I deleted it many years ago. You'll will learn why on this journey. (I was a petty hurt bitch and not thinking)

As I posted on my blog, I tweeted out the link. Within a few weeks my blog posts were being retweeted like crazy and the followers of my blog increased daily! I was like WTF? I was shocked! Even Madam Akyria noticed and ask me to join her blog, The Twilight Muse Blog. 

She gave me the name,  Lady Tazz!

On Monday October 27th you will meet my good friend Madam Akyria!

 Thursday I'm going to do something a little different! See you than!

Twilight Fanfiction....WTF?

After watching the movie several times and wanting, maybe even needing more, I googled everything Twilight. One of my google searches brought me to a site called Twilighted! 

Twilighted.net is a fanfiction site.  I had no idea what that meant, but I knew there were Twight-related stories on that site, so, I wanted in!

What is fanfiction? (I looked it up for you in case you didn't know.)

A piece of fiction within a fandom utilizing characters and situations from a pre-existing work including (but not limited to) books, television programs, films ...

I quickly signed up under the name Tazz as it was my nickname in high school. I explored the site and found so many stories to read...it was really endless!

Twilighted had a back chat room called The Threads...where you looked up the story you were reading and join others that liked that story and sometimes the author would be in there giving teasers for upcoming chapters. 

I found out that many readers had a twitter accounts so, I went and got a twitter Tazzy Cullen. I had a blast on twitter, but the downfall was you had to say what you wanted in only 140 characters...this was not easy! As time went on my twitter followers increased. 

On twitter I meet and became friends with Madam Akyra as we were reading the same story. 

She was my first Twilight friend and all these years later she's still a very dear friend of mine. You will get to know through this journey as she was a huge part of everything I did!

Team Vampire or Team Wolf

The usual questions Twilight fans want to know is .

are you Team Edward

 or Team Jacob?

I'm not a huge fan of Edward... I find him controlling and very whiny.

I do adore Jacob... but for me he was just meant to be Bella's friend.

I think it should be Team Vampire - The Cullen's

verse Team Wolf - the pack (you have to admit the wolves are sexy as humans and cute as hell as wolves) and don't forget about Emily!

I'm a vampire girl for sure! I love the Cullen's, but I'm Team Carlisle all the way!  I love me some sexy Dr. Cullen!

Again I'm a vampire girl at heart but I also respect the wolf pack.

How a Book Named Twilight Changed My Life

 It was late spring 2009 (a part of me wants to write... Picture it.. Buffalo...2009)! <- see I promised humor! Okay; I digress.

 I was a stay-at-home mom of a new baby, a 4 year old, and an amazing dog named Mandy! I was involved in a group called MoPs (Mother's of Preschoolers). The group was a way for us moms to socialize. One of those wonderful moms gave me the Twilight series to read.

 

 To say that I was entranced would be an understatement. I read all  four books in 10 days! I couldn't wait to rent the movie Twilight as New Moon was coming to theaters in the fall! I was not impressed with the first movie at all, but I still watched it a few times before returning it to Blockbuster (remember Blockbuster?)

My issues with the first movie... (spoilers ahead)

You leave blood typing out but put a stupid field trip in? Really?!?

The last scene with Victoria at the prom... come on really, like Edward wouldn't of smelled her and heard her thoughts (be somewhat realistic) 

The worst part of the movie was the green screen. I was looking forward to New Moon as they had a bigger budget and different director and of course ... wolves! They do bring drama and entertainment to the series after all!

Welcome to My Life with a Splash of Vodka.

I'm Tammy Sheldon, a 52 year old recently divorced mother of two amazing kids 20 and 16 and 4 very spoiled cats! (you'll get to know my cat very well) Yes, I am the crazy cat lady!

Finding myself 50 years old, going through a divorce and menopause at the same time has made the last few years to say the least, a bit crazy would be an understatement. I'm not even going to start on the dates I've been on since, but I'll sum it up with this quote I've heard somewhere "Dating after 50 is like going to the thrift store and finding the least broken and smelly thing and bringing it home." This is why I'm truly just happy being home with my kids and cats! That's what brings me joy!

I've wanted to start blogging again for awhile but I couldn't figure out what to talk about besides my cats of course. Then one day it hit me, I needed to tell the story of the craziest and best ten years of my life. So, buckle up and join me as I take you through how a simple book named Twilight changed my life!

Over the next few months you'll come to know as Lady Tazz and Tamaria Soana, I promise to write each post with humor, with a little sprinkle of my life here and there, and of course while drinking a vodka and tonic!
