Media Mania: Netflix Leanne Morgan

I'm just over the top in love with Miss Leanna Morgan! I suggest you go run to Netflix and watch her stand ups and her new series! I also listened to her book on Audible!

I found Leanne when her show dropped on Netflix, I binge watched it and fell in love with her. After I found her first stand up, listened to her book, watched/listened to every interview she did and finally her latest stand up dropped! Leanne just turned 60 and she is lighting things up and unstoppable.
She tells it like it is and touches on women's issue with comedy and truth!

I have no idea why it took so long for her to hit it big (you all that passed on her - really missed out)

One things for sure Leanne is taking the world of comedy on and crushing it, showing everyone that no matter how old you are dreams can come true!

Leanne's Stand up Netflix Specials

Both of these are just so funny! Leanne is real, she doesn't shy away form the things that woman go through like childbirth, raising kids, marriage and menopause and so much in between. I laughed so hard I've watch them both twice!

Her new series! I've watched all the episodes four time already!

Her husband as cheated on her and her life gets turned upside down, The bound with her sister and her parents is so special. This show will get you laughing and it hits home.

Her book!
I use audible when I'm driving and when I'm donating plasma!
She reads her own book, and she is so down to earth and this book touched me deep as I laughed and cried a lot!

I hope you go check her out, you won't be sorry!

See you Thursday with a Podcast Edition of Media Mania!

My Jasper Obsession

 Who is Jasper Hale?

I did some research, I wish Stephanie Meyers would of went more in-depth on his story,

Jasper Hale (born Jasper Whitlock in 1844, in Houston, Texas) is one of the few surviving vampires of the Southern vampire wars, who later joined the Olympic coven.

He is the husband of Alice Cullen and the adoptive son of Carlisle and Esme Cullen, as well as the adoptive brother of Rosalie Hale, Emmett and Edward Cullen. Jasper is also the adoptive brother-in-law of Bella Swan and the adoptive uncle of Renesmee Cullen.

After becoming a major in the Confederate Army, Jasper was set upon by the vampire Maria, who proceeded to turn him. After the transformation, Jasper aided Maria in her creation of a newborn vampire army, which successfully conquered the feeding grounds of Texas. However, over the next decades, Jasper became tired of this violent and bloodstained life, because he could feel the emotions of those he killed, which eventually became too much for him.

In the 1940s, he left his bloodthirsty coven to become a nomad. In 1948, he met Alice, the love of his life, and with her joined the peaceful Cullen family—a coven of vegetarian vampires. By living as a vegetarian, he was freed from the emotions that so depressed him.

* * * *

Jasper is just a very deep character and I started reading many Japer/Bella stories and even some dark ones. I was addicted! At this point I had written Alice Guide to Having Sex with a Vampire (I'm almost ready to post that!) I found a Jasper contest giving by the Jasper's Naughty Girls called Teach me the Nasty so I entered,  I wrote a Jasper/Bella  All Human, I didn't win but writing this pairing was so much fun. I did turn the contest story into a multi chapter story. After I get Alices Guide up I'll go through Control, but I'll give the first chapter what I submitted to the contest!

And as a bonus I put up a Jasper/Bella  very steamy one-shot called Masquerade!

Media Mania: Hallmark Christmas Stories and Series

Every year I get the Hallmark Streaming Channel to watch Christmas Movies! I'm kinda a Christmas Movie junkie!

This is what I watched so far of this years Countdown to Christmas Movies!

Lifelong Bills fans Morgan and Gabe find love in Buffalo at Christmas. Holland Roden, Matthew Daddario, and Joe Pantoliano.

I loved this Bills movie, it was so cute and to see the sites around Western New York was just an added bonus! Ii was sweet, heartfelt and I cried!

As life pushes the family in different directions, the Brenner boys decide they need to put on the Best Christmas Ever to bring everyone back together. Stars Paul Campbell, Tyler Hynes, Andrew Walker and Margaret Colin.

This was so funny, it's the third movie in this series - Three Wiser men and a Boy from last Christmas and Thee Wise Men and a Baby for 2022!

This family has just the right balance of drama, comedy, dysfunction, romance and fun!
I've watched them all, these brothers are funny and hot as hell!

During a Christmas Eve blizzard, ER Doctor, Alice, and newly hired cardiologist, Brian, team up to deliver four babies while spreading holiday joy for the patients and hospital staff. Stars Rachel Boston, Brendan Penny.

I adored this movie, all the feels you expect from a hallmark movie and more...much more!

After inheriting part ownership of a cat cafe, Olivia must spend the weeks leading up to Christmas working there to try and convince veterinarian Ben to sell but manages to find love instead. Staring Erin Cahill and Paul Campbell.

I don't need to tell you that this one I was so excited for, Christmas and cats! I will watch this one over and over again! The storyline was sweet and the romance was spot on for a hallmark movie but it was the cats...yes the cats that made this one purrfect!

Two vastly different sisters follow their late grandparent's steps and experience everything the Alps has to offer- including romance. Starring Ashley Williams, Laci J. Mailey, and Julien Samani.

I thought this was a very cute movie! Loved the sister drama and the family loyalty!

I'll post at the end of Christmas the other movies I choose to watch from 2025!

As a bonus I wanted to share with two amazing series I also found!

A Hallmark Original Series. Christmas shop owner Emily Lane uses secret skills to investigate murders while hiding her past, especially from local Detective Sam Wilner. Stars Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney.

It has two seasons and I want season three NOW! Christmas and crime! He's a detective and she has secrets. This is just an amazing series with the perfect balance if Christmas, crime and romance!
I was all in and it has April from Greys in it!!!!!!

A Hallmark Original Series. Three generations of Landry women reunite and begin to heal from their family's past when their youngest member finds herself on an unexpected journey.

A family drama that adds time travel in the mix. And Lexi from Grey's is in it!
I'm usually not a time travel watcher or reader but this one drew me in. Three season and
season four coming soon!

See you next Thursday with another Media Mania!

Reading Outside My Comfort Zone!

As I've said I only read canon mostly Edward/Bella but I did read some Carlisle/Esme,  Jasper/Alice and even a few wolf fics. Again I mainly read on Twilighted but I did find Fanfiction.net and dove in.

My first non cannon was a Jasper/Bella and I didn't like how the offer portrayed Edward and Alice as villains so I stopped reading it, this is no part the authors fault, I just wasn't ready for that type of story...yet! I found another one  and again the same thing happened, it just wasn't my cup of tea.
My curiosity was certainly pique, so when I stumbled upon a Jasper/Bella Trilogy on twitter I wanted  to check it out. It had so many reviews all great ones so I decided to message the author and ask a few questions before I started to read, and Cullen818 answered my questions and she ended up being a huge part of my fanfiction life and my published author life! More to come on that.

Here is Trilogy changed me to the core, I fell in deep love with Jasper! My fanfiction took a turn after reading this!

Set two years after New Moon. Edward never came back and Bella is at college trying to pull her life together. She meets up with the one Cullen she never thought she could have anything in common with. Definitely a Team Jasper story. Rated M for lemons

Newborn Bella is experiencing things that no vampire should. Something is terribly wrong, but what? STORY CONTAINS MATURE/DARK/ANGST. DON'T READ if that's not your thing. Sequel to Fate Has Brought Us Here.

Final installment in my Fate/Love/Hope trilogy. Read Fate Has Brought Us Here and then Love Will Keep Us There first. J/B never saw these events coming...can they save their family before it's too late? Team Jasper story!

I'll share more on how reading this trilogy changed things for me in the fanfiction world soon!

See you next time!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Cat Edition

Today I’m going to introduce you to my sweet cats!

This how I became the crazy cat lady!

In September 2017 Ana came to me and asked if she could get a kitten. We already had two dogs at the time Luna and Max, and I was a dog person… or so I thought!

I mean I liked cats but never really wanted one. So, my answer to her was, “Ask your dad if he says it’s okay it’s okay with me.” I said this because I was pretty sure he would say no, guess what…he said yes and she was so happy!

So, off to the Erie County SPCA we went and we fell in love with our Scarlett (she was named Lola). And my cat obsession began as this little creature stole my heart completely!

Scarlett is a spicy tortoiseshell; she does have a sweet side when she wants! I always say she is full of tortitude! She really doesn’t meow she kind of just yells…. noooo.

February 2018 came around and Simon wanted a cat of his own and I thought Scarlett could use a friend! I went to Pet Supplies Plus to buy food and there was Waldo, he was stray found in Niagara Falls and he was so lonely in a cage, so I brought him home and named him Jinx. They said he was around a year old.

Unfortunately, we didn’t even have him for two days and I had to rush him to the ER because something was very wrong with him. He was diagnosed with panleukopenia, and he unfortunately never came home. He was sweet boy and I'm so glad we were able to show him love and comfort. His loss was hard and I told Simon we would get another cat when the time was right.

* * * * *

Flashforward to July 2018, The Niagara County SPCA was having the clear the shelter event all cats were $25.00 including kittens, so we took the long drive in hopes to find an orange kitten! We got there and they had no orange kittens, but there was a cage with 3 black cats in it. We took one out, I can’t remember the cat’s name, but he wanted nothing to do with us. When the volunteer put him back in the cage one of the other black kittens placed his little paw on Simon’s hand that was resting on the cage. Well played little kitty… well played! The lady took Gunther out and we fell in love with this black fluff ball! We renamed him Onyx! BEST clearance cat ever!

Onyx has always had a very special place in my heart; he is a sweet and gentle cat and he has this amazing calming effect over me and yet he’s afraid of just about everything. He doesn’t really meow, he kind of natnowes!

Scarlett and Onyx were doing great together!

And then COVID hit!

May 2020, the kids and I were home 24/7 for two long months so a kitten was something we wanted. An orange kitten to be exact!

At the time the kids and I were volunteering for Ten Lives Club but that was put on hold because of the pandemic.

I got in touch with the girls that I knew did fostering to see if any had an orange male and I hit the jackpot! One had a male calico (this is very rare) but he was too small to be fixed with the other kittens, so I fostered to adopted him, His name was Nutmeg and we changed it to Toby! Just like the last two Toby doesn’t meow, he squeaks! I give up! I guess we will never have a normal cat!

The kids loved having a kitten and Toby got around the clock love, introducing him to Scarlett and Onyx went smoothly. Onyx accepted him pretty much right away, but Scarlett took a few more days!

Life with three cats was great! We ended moving in August to a bigger home and the cats loved all the space and exploring a new home!

* * * *

Flashforward to 2023 – Divorced and moved again to an apartment with the kids and the cats! We moved in January and I knew I wanted kittens, but we were going on a vacation in August so after that I wanted to start looking.

One day at the beginning of October we went to the mall and wondered into Tabby Town, and I saw this little grey puff ball and fell in love, his name was John and he couldn’t come home right away as he needed his shots, I also wanted a girl kitten, but they only had males.

So, after signing the paperwork but not being able to bring Poe home for a week, I wanted to find a female kitten. I had a dream that night that my Poe was home playing in my room with a calico kitten. I woke up the next morning I texted my friends that foster again and the one I that fostered our Toby had a calico little girl (a few weeks older than Poe) going up for adoption the next day! It was meant to be so of course, we went and got her!

She was named Souffle, we named her Rory after my obsession with Gilmore Girls. Rory was actual home for a few days before we brought Poe home.

The day finally came to bring our sweet Poe, we had been visiting him almost daily, I wanted him to know he was loved. He ended up coming home with us as a foster to adopt as he was too little to get fixed. He got his name because we love Edger Alan Poe and he came home on Friday the 13th! I didn’t think Jason or Freddy was fitting for such a love bug!

For the first month they grew up in my room, only slowly meeting the OG cats (we named Scarlett, Onyx and Toby this because they were all pre the move )

We lovingly name our two newest members… the Shittens!

It took some time, but all five cats pretty much coexist and get along!

As for the OG’s , Scarlett is 8 and believe it or not she is chilling out a bit. I would say she hates and loves us all the same.

Onyx would have been 7 and I was his person. This past January we lost Onyx, he had an enlarged pancreas, it was a very difficult time and to tell you the truth I’m still not over it.

Toby is 5 and still the sweetest and strangest boy but he really has zero brain cells on most days, it maybe be an orange cat thing! Ana 100% is his person.

As for the shittens Rory and Poe are 2 now and love each other completely!

Rory is just so sweet and has such a kind heart and her fur feels like velvet. She claimed Simon as her person.

Poe well, all I can say is we love him even though he is just a little troublemaker and he really is the dumbest cat I’ve ever met but he is cute, fluffy and sweet and very much a lap cat! I’m also thankful that the little shit claimed me to be his person!

And we now have two cats that meow, Rory has a very soft meow as Poe has loud meow more like a roar, okay, so I have one cat the family meows! I’ll take it!

I love my little cat family so much!

Happy Thanksgiving from

Scarlett, Toby, Rory and Poe!

In loving memory of Jinx and Onyx!
