Crazy Cat Lady Chronicles: Knock Knock Scarlett

  Playing Knock Knock Scarlett!

We brough Scarlett home in September her first holiday with us was Halloween  - I bought her from Target a Halloween carboard scratcher house. It was cute and she loved going in it. I placed in on our bay window and carved out the shutters that were on the box so they flapped open to let some light in.

One day Scarlett was in there so I knocked on the carboard under the window that I craved out and out flew a paw. I did it again and out flew a paw. We laughed and that is how a simple game called knock knock Scarlett started.

I just wished I took video of it because it was hilarious.

Just one of the things cats do that amuse us

See you nest time!

Crazy Cat Lady Chronicles: Introduction

Hello, and welcome to something fun!

I have had the pleasure of having six cats in my adult life, four are still with me.

Join me on this fun, heartfelt and sometimes heartbreaking journey as I tell you tales from being a cat owner!

These creatures have changed my life completely and there are days that because of them that I keep going when I'd rather give up! They with my children are my sanity and the reason I exist!

I'm going to start with saying.... I didn't always like cats - THERE I SAID IT!  I didn't hate them but didn't want one in my house. I did however love and enjoy my friends cats over the years.

One day everything changed...

My oldest wanted a kitten, I told her to ask her father, thinking it would be a hard no. To my surprise he said yes and we were at the SPCA a few days later. We had two dogs, so I was not sure how this was going go!

After seeing many kittens Ana decided on a cute very small tortoiseshell we named Scarlett.

Little did I know this little creature was going to change my life forever.

Cats are complex and amazing. I for one count myself lucky to have been able to love and be loved by these feisty little fur balls!

Really he only time a cat breaks your heart is when they leave this life.

I'm going to try and post a short cat story every Wednesday, barring life doesn't get in the way!

See you nest time!

Stay Pawsitive!

Media Mania: Cat's People by Tanya Guerrero on Audible

Cat's People by Tanya Guerrero

on Audible

“An uplifting tale of friendship, kindness, and connection . . . This joyful story of the unlikely friendship between five strangers and one remarkable cat is a must-read for cat lovers.”—Marianne Cronin, author of The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot

Núria, a single-by-choice barista with a little resentment for the “crazy cat lady” label, is a member of The Meow-Yorkers, a group in Brooklyn who takes care of the neighborhood’s stray cats. On her volunteering days, she starts finding Post-it notes left by a secret admirer in an area where her feeds her favorite stray—a black cat named Cat. Like most felines, he is both curious and observant, so of course he knows who the notes are from. Núria, however, is clueless.

Are the notes from Collin, a bestselling author and self-professed hermit with a weakness for good coffee? Are they from Lily, a fresh-out-of-high school Georgia native searching for her long-lost half sister? Are they from Omar, the beloved neighborhood mailman going through an early midlife crisis? Or are they from Bong, the grieving widower who owns Núria’s favorite bodega?

When Cat suddenly falls ill, these five strangers find themselves bonding together in their desire to care for him, and discover that chance encounters can lead to the meaningful connections they’ve all been searching for.

Just wow!

I listened to this book and it was amazing! So heartfelt and the emotions that this book makes one feel are deep, both happy and sad.

I loved it because it starred at cat of course (cat does not talk - you just get his inner thought) but the bonds and friendships that both already existed and those that happen during the book made my heart melt.

A stray cat, 5 strangers, a terrifying event... changes 6 lives!

I loved this book so ,much and I give it 5 out of 5 drinks!

Media Mania: Kevin Hart on NETFLIX

Hello, today I want to talk about Kevin Hart!

His new comedy completion Funny AF is amazing! It's about time some did a comedy competition! The reward is a one hour NETFIX special!

The Netflix comedy competition series brought together rising comedians from across the country alongside a rotating panel of comedy heavyweights, including Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Segura, Kumail Nanjiani, Chelsea Handler, and Nikki Glaser.

Over the course of the season, contestants faced the realities of life as a stand-up comic, from high-pressure sets and rewrites to live performances in front of massive audiences. The competition ultimately culminated in two live episodes, where Netflix members voted in real time to help decide who would take home the title — and their own Netflix comedy special.

*********

I LOVED THIS and laughed so hard!! the way the world is today we could use a good laugh!

I'm hoping for a season 2, because I need more of this!

5 drinks for sure

Also on NETFIX....

who doesn't love a good roast!

Live roast of Kevin Hart taking place at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2026.

This is 3 hours of laughing, at one point I had tears!

The Rescue of a Baby Squirrel

Life is never boring…

Last week I was taking a nap after work because I wasn't feeling well - when my Ring camera kept going off. I picked up my phone to see what was happening outside.

The first video showed my neighbor’s son being chased by a squirrel and the next one was my Simon petting the squirrel.

Neighbors heard crying/screaming and found the little thing all alone and it followed/chased them, he knocked on our door because he thought since I have cats so of course, I’d know what to do, so Simon went to meet the baby.

Sweet baby

I got on my phone and started to make call – I was going to find a safe place for this sweet

SPCA was closed so I called the Hamburg Police and they gave me the phone number of a lady in Boston who helps squirrels. After speaking to her we were off to Boston with the baby squirrel

We got to the house to find out the baby was about 6 weeks old and a boy - Simon named him Chip! He was most likely without momma for a few days because of the shape he was in. He will get the fluids he needs and will be brought up with a few other squirrel babies. He will stay safe in the sanctuary until he and his foster brothers and sisters can be set free!

She will keep in touch with me and send me pics of Chip and siblings as they grow!

This squirrel sanctuary is on a few acres of land - most of the squirrels she releases stay right on the grounds and come to her when they want!

Sounds like the perfect way to live!

  UPDATE:

Chip with his new brothers and sisters
He is the one in the middle of the sleeping ones  - they are a little younger than him  - the bigger two on the other side are a bit older.

What a crazy day, I was just happy that I could help the little guy

 and get him someplace safe!

Organize home: Through her years of experience as an industry expert, Cas has uncovered easy and inexpensive tips, tricks and solutions that allow her to maintain a clean, organized and functional home with minimal effort. • Build the best toy organizing system
• And, enjoy a diy Pinterest home

My thoughts

Watching organizing and cleaning videos is sort of my guilty pleasure. I can't even describe why, besides it gives me a motivational kick in my rear, especially when I need it.

I pre-ordered this little ditty of a book, a couple months back. I've read through it several times, as there was just too much to absorb at once. It helps that she has it split up into manageable sections.

Clutterbug is a organize vlogger on youtube that I stumbled upon last year. She has some great organizing videos that she uploads weekly. I am still very much a book person, so when she told us she was releasing a book, I jumped on the pre-order bandwagon. I like holding books in my hands, and this one is no exception. While I confess this is my first straight organizing book I think I have ever bought, Cassandra doesn't disappoint. Her personality shines in this book, as much as it does in her videos.

There are 4 types of clutterbugs, as she calls them. Depending on the type of person you are, how you organize and clean. Honestly, I'd just toss everything into a tote and put it in a closet. But that is NOT helping, that is borderline hoarding, and lazy. Some of us are lazy, Cassandra explains that we need to organize smarter, take the lazy part of all of us, and make it work for you.

I even whipped up my own badge, I'm cool like that.

She even has a way to declutter, in just 15 minutes (a day). That is the tagline for her book after all.

Did her book make me laugh? You bet it did.

Did it kick my butt to WANT things organized? Yes.

Did I start organizing? Yes.

Is it a miracle book that does it for you? No, but it gives you the tools you need to get it done!

Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

If you are like some of us, who need a little help, who needs some direction, but have no idea where to start, this one is for you. You can buy it on Amazon.

She has a facebook group you can join for tips, you can watch her videos (subscribe! I did!) and if you feel so, go buy her book. Or her printables, her printables are soooo nice!

Media Mania: As Far as She Knew by Diana Awad

This is  a new to me author - this book was in my Facebook feed and it looked interesting - I got the Audible version.

As Far as She Knew by  Diana Awad

For twenty-three years, Amira Abadi believed she had a strong, loving marriage. But when her husband, Ali, dies suddenly, that certainty shatters with the discovery of a house she never knew existed. As whispers of betrayal spread through their tight-knit Arab American community, Amira refuses to let others define her husband’s legacy—or her path forward.

Diving into an investigation of Ali’s final days, Amira uncovers decades-old secrets that challenge everything she thought she knew. With her children struggling to process their father’s death, Amira must balance protecting her family with pursuing the truth, even as each revelation brings her closer to danger.

As Amira peels back layers of lies, she discovers that the greatest mystery isn’t what her husband was hiding—it’s how far she’ll go to uncover the truth.

Last week this book was in my Facebook feed as new release thriller, I checked it out and decided on the Audible version.

This is the authors first book in this genre,  I did enjoy it but I would NOT have put this in the thriller category as it was more suspenseful.

The story was complicated and unfolded too slowly I thought due to a lot of filler.

Overall I do give it 3 out of 5 Drinks!

Media Mania Monday: Kelly Bishop - The Third Gilmore Girl

The Third Gilmore on Audible

Kelly Bishop’s long, storied career has been defined by landmark achievements, from winning a Tony Award for her turn in the original Broadway cast of A Chorus Line to her memorable performance as Jennifer Grey’s mother in Dirty Dancing. But it is probably her iconic role as matriarch Emily in the modern classic Gilmore Girls that cemented her legacy.

Now, Bishop reflects on her remarkable life and looks towards the future with The Third Gilmore Girl. She shares some of her greatest stories and the life lessons she’s learned on her journey. From her early transition from dance to drama, to marrying young to a compulsive gambler, to the losses and achievements she experienced—among them marching for women’s rights and losing her second husband to cancer—Bishop offers a rich, genuine celebration of her life.

Full of witty insights and featuring a special collection of personal and professional photographs, The Third Gilmore Girl is a warm, unapologetic, and spirited memoir from a woman who has left indelible impressions on her audiences for decades and has no plans on slowing down.

INCLUDES A FOREWORD WRITTEN AND READ BY GILMORE GIRLS CREATOR, AMY SHERMAN-PALLADINO!

Club) in this candid memoir from beloved actress Kelly Bishop, spanning her six decades in show business in A Chorus LineDirty DancingGilmore Girls, and much more.

I loved that Kelly Bishop narrated her own memoir.

I love Gilmore Girl - I've watched like easy 50 times or more - I even have a cat named Rory.
It's my go to show! I one I have playing in the background or when I'm sleeping.

So, I couldn't wait to devour this book, I chose the audible version.

Kelly Bishop has led an amazing life, not always easy but she never gave up.
I loved learning about her early years in theater and  The Corus Line,
the all the fun stories from the Dirty Dancing set. but of course I was all in for everything Gilmore Girls
 and she didn't disappoint.

I give it 5 out of 5 drinks!
