Crazy Cat Lady Chronicles: Onyx - My Heart - My Everything

 

Today will be a bit different - I will do a post about losing a cat and handling grief in the future -but for today this post is just my undying love for a cat who changed my life.... Onyx.

I will do many post about him and his antics but today its going to be about my everlasting love for him.

From the moment we brough Onyx home I felt a connection to him, the way he looked at me sometimes I swear he was seeing my soul. Through the worst moments of my life (my divorce) he was always there, it seemed he felt what I felt. Onyx was special cat. Today I want to celebrate him and what he meant to me! To me Onyx was an extension of my soul! we lost him a year and half ago and I still cry and my heart is still broke. He was my mini panther!

Again there will be so may post about him but I want you to enjoy these pictures of my little buddy!

  These images make my laugh and cry. I love all my cats but Onyx and I had a connection that I really can't explain and he will forever have a piece of my heart.

Sweet Magnolias is an American romantic drama television series

The series premiered on Netflix on May 19, 2020. In April 2025, it was renewed for a fifth season which premiered on June 11, 2026

Sweet Magnolias follows "three South Carolina women, best friends since childhood, as they shepherd each other through the complexities of romance, career, and family."

   

Season Five was fantastic, I'm really hoping for a Season 6!

This show for me is just the right mix of humor and drama. I love the small town family and friends feeling each season gives and yes sometimes its pretty corny!

I also love all the southern charm and most of all the friendship between Maddie, Dana Sue and Helen. They are there for each other no matter what is going on in their lives. Their friendship is deep and their love for each other is unconditionally. 

So, Let's just pour it out and give this show 5 out of 5 drinks!

Toby is a Tired Kitten

Toby was our pandemic kitten - he was cat number 3 in out household. I wanted a orange cat so badly and being we where all home, he got 24/7 attention,. This little guy would play so hard and than just pass out. My daughter even had him on a nap schedule (again we will all stuck home so he provided much needed distraction)  This time he passed out while playing right on his toy! Isn't he the cutest?!

A tense and breathless psychological thriller set in the sunny Caribbean with a mind-blowing twist you won’t see coming. 

This book started out amazing - I was loving it - it had a lot of intrigue and crazy twists and turns. The audible had a different voice for each character, the voice of the men (I believe it was AI) was horrible and robotic - this ruined things for me a bit.

The story line was good and strong in parts but for me it fell apart at the end, the author could of done a much better job with flushing out the ending as she gave us 48 chapters of build up for a anticlimactic ending.

I give Five Liars 3 out of Drinks!

My husband Matt and I are an ordinary married couple in every way but one. At the end of each day, we return to our own homes and our own spaces. Some people think this arrangement is odd, but for us it's perfect.

But beyond the fairy lights I string at my window, darkness is pressing in. Two local women have gone missing, and I don't want to be alone. With Matt away for work, I find comfort in chatting to my new neighbour Brenda, who drops in regularly with casseroles and groceries.

Sipping our coffees, looking out of my kitchen window, I soon notice how observant Brenda is. So when she tells me that perhaps my husband isn't simply working late, something cold takes root. I think of Matt's recent vague tone, the way he brushes off my questions. Brenda thinks I should pop by when Matt's not at home. Just to check everything's as it should be.

I should be able to trust the man I married. But when I do go through my husband's things, I discover that our perfect living arrangement is hiding a shocking secret…

This book was a great surprise for me, I found it free on Audible.

I was drawn in very quickly to the very interesting story line, the charters are all great and the surprises along the way were fun and some unexpected. 

 It was a good drama and suspense story! I want more Brenda!!

I give this book a solid 4 out of 5 drinks!

Throwback Thursday : Quick & Easy Chicken Fajitas.

 

 

I'm going to share with you my Quick & Easy Chicken  Fajitas. Makes a great dinner on a hot summer day!

What you'll need:

1 medium green bell pepper and 1 medium yellow (or red) pepper

(optional one sweet onion) Cut into strips

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast cooked and cut into strips (or you can by the ones already made and cut)

1/2 cup of water

1/2 cup of salsa

1 envelope of Lipton Onion Soup Mix

1 teaspoons of vegetable oil

12 (7-8 inch) flour tortillas warmed

Preparation:

In a large skillet place peppers, (onions) chicken, salsa, and soup mix. Stir about 5 minutes until everything is mixed and heated.

Place mixture in tortillas, roll, and serve.

I always place sour cream and shredded cheese on the table along with rice to complete my meal.

I serve this with a side of Spanish or Mexican Rice!

Crazy Cat Lady Chronicles: Knock Knock Scarlett

  Playing Knock Knock Scarlett!

We brough Scarlett home in September her first holiday with us was Halloween  - I bought her from Target a Halloween carboard scratcher house. It was cute and she loved going in it. I placed in on our bay window and carved out the shutters that were on the box so they flapped open to let some light in.

One day Scarlett was in there so I knocked on the carboard under the window that I craved out and out flew a paw. I did it again and out flew a paw. We laughed and that is how a simple game called knock knock Scarlett started.

I just wished I took video of it because it was hilarious.

Anyone who knows me knows I love a good Tue Crime documentary or Podcast! 

I find Allegedly to be an amazing outlet to get real information for some of the biggest cases in the media.

Ellison along with her guests break things down for the viewer in a way that makes some of the investigator and lawyer talk make sense.

I devoured the episodes that are out and I can't wait for Wednesday for a new episode!
